MINNEAPOLIS — Verisae, a premier clean technology company and the global leader in Sustainability Resource Planning (“SRP”), today announced that Marsh Supermarkets, Inc. has implemented Verisae’s SRP platform to reduce operating expenses as part of the company’s overall sustainability strategy.
Marsh, headquartered in Indianapolis, will take advantage of utility bill processing and maintenance automation at store sites nationally. Utility bill processing allows Marsh representatives to review bill data and charts on energy consumption and spending. Cost reductions are achieved by reducing billing errors associated with incorrectly assessed late fees; disconnect notices, estimated meter read adjustments, incorrect application of previous payment, and duplicate or overlapping bills. Maintenance automation allows them to better manage work orders and process invoices, and gain better visibility into their maintenance and repair spend.
“This is a classic win-win-win situation. We have seen hard dollar savings across a number of different business processes,” said Phoebe Miller, director of facilities for Marsh Supermarkets, which operates more than 100 supermarkets in Indiana and Ohio. “The payback was immediate, and as important, our business is now on a more sustainable track for the long term. That is good for all of our internal stakeholders, external customers, and our trading partners.”
Using Verisae’s software, customers have the ability to leverage low-investment, high-return solutions such as utility bill processing, refrigerant tracking, or real-time energy metering to fund their sustainable initiatives.
Organizations can reduce the upfront complexity when they begin their journey toward environmental sustainability. Verisae enables them to start with projects that yield high return on investment, using software products that are fast and straightforward to implement. Verisae’s sustainability software enables organizations to advance one step at a time as they work to reduce carbon emissions and the costs associated with energy use, internal operations, and utilization of equipment.
Paul Hepperla, vice president of Product Strategy for Verisae, said organizations improve the effectiveness of their sustainability initiatives through the knowledge they obtain during their day-to-day business operations.
“It certainly helps to capture very detailed data and we provide such data so our customers can distinguish between normal and below-normal performance,” said Hepperla. “They can learn the ‘why’ behind any anomalies appearing across their businesses as they learn and adapt.”
