With 24 locations in the Chicago area and 10 more set to open by the end of 2015, Mariano’s is considering an expansion outside the Chicago market, CEO Bob Mariano said Monday.
"Other markets are on the horizon, yes," Mariano said in a speech at the City Club of Chicago. “Where, we haven’t said."
The upscale supermarket chain, a unit of Milwaukee-based Roundy’s Supermarket Inc., will open stores in Oak Lawn, West Chester, Glenview, Shorewood and Gurnee by the end of 2014, Mariano said. Five more locations are set to open next year.
