Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School Is Closing Its US Campuses

Le Cordon Bleu is shutting down in the U.S. The cooking school's 16 campuses in the country, including one in Pasadena, will stop enrolling students after Jan. 4.

The first Cordon Bleu opened its doors in Paris in 1895, and is probably still best known as the alma mater of Julia Child, who attended the Paris school early in her career. 

The announcement this week by the Schaumburg, Ill.-based Career Education Corp., which owns the schools, cited recent federal regulations that limit federal funding to for-profit schools.
