Kuna Foodservice, a distributor serving restaurants and other foodservice operations in the St. Louis region, announced the formation of Kuna Retail, a new division focused on serving retailers such as grocery stores and butcher shops.
The company has hired four retail industry veterans from Crown Foods — Marcia Shook, J.R. Koerber, Jack Workman and Christy Koerber. The four new employees form the backbone of Kuna Retail but will be supported by the existing infrastructure of Kuna Foodservice. Kuna Retail anticipates $15 million in new business.
Kuna Foodservice, based in Dupo, Ill., has grown from a small butcher shop in South St. Louis into a multimillion-dollar enterprise focused on the processing and distribution of food.
