Kroger Co. is eyeing a major expansion of its facility in Tolleson, which would begin with a 10- to 12-story, 117,000-square-foot addition to its perishable warehouse.
Kroger's initial plans
The timing of the project depends on the economy, but a Kroger official said the company would like to start the initial expansion as soon as possible, which could mean design begins next year.
There are seven potential expansions that Kroger is considering at the facility, west of 99th Avenue and north of Buckeye Road.
Cincinnati-based Kroger Co., Fry's Food Stores' parent company, would begin with the 117,592-square-foot expansion and automation of its existing perishable warehouse, which holds frozen foods and is not automated.
