Kroger Co. CFO Mike Schlotman said a number of changes could be coming as a result of the company’s acquisition of Harris Teeter Supermarkets Inc. One of those changes could be the testing of online ordering systems, WCPO reports.
While there are a number of changes Kroger plans to make at Harris Teeter locations, Schlotman said the Cincinnati-based grocer might be interested in testing an online ordering system used by its latest acquisition.
Kroger had been working on development of an online ordering system for its customers, but the process was put on hold when the deal for Harris Teeter was announced in order to avoid duplicating its program. Schlotman said the newly acquired system could be rolled out for testing “in a relatively short period,” and which markets would get to try it first hasn’t been decided.
