TORONTO – In a move set to revolutionize the Canadian online food delivery and take-out landscape, JUST EAT Canada is thrilled to announce an exciting and integral partnership: the newly launched Eat Up Delivery Solution. This industry-changing move comes hot on the heels of JUST EAT Canada's acquisition of Menu Express, Quebec City's #1 online food delivery service, which will now operate via JUST-EAT.ca's ordering system.
Menu Express, co-founded by Randy Rolph, will be segmenting its current business structure. The consumer-facing MenuExpress.com has been acquired by JUST EAT Canada and customers will now be re-directed to JUST-EAT.ca. Menu Express's delivery fleet for restaurants will now be known as Eat Up under the new company structure and will work exclusively with JUST EAT Canada to provide delivery solutions for restaurants in Eastern Canadian markets, beginning with Montreal and Quebec City* this spring.
With this latest development, JUST EAT Canada's online delivery and take-out ordering service will seamlessly ramp up its nationwide offerings. Traditionally, JUST EAT Canada has worked with restaurants already offering delivery to further the restaurants' reach. With the launch of Eat Up via this fortuitous partnership, JUST EAT Canada will continue to expand its position as an industry leader, being able to offer a full-service delivery system for restaurants without their own delivery operation.
"With the acquisition of MenuExpress.com and the exclusive partnership with the newly launched Eat Up, we really feel we've found a solid partner to expand into the delivery side of the business so that we further enhance our consumer experience," says JUST EAT Canada's Managing Director, Todd Masse. "We're now able to lend support to restaurants that otherwise are more traditional dine-in establishments as well as those who have not yet invested in a delivery operation and logistics. This will enable many of such restaurants to reach a broader clientele and assist in their business growth."
From a consumer standpoint, this means that JUST-EAT.ca's already incredible roster of available restaurants is set to rapidly expand in 2014. "We're now able to further advance the accessibility of thousands of restaurants and cuisine styles, and bring a broader range of options to our users," states Masse.
Randy Rolph, co-founder of Menu Express, is excited for the new direction that will result from the expansion of its core offerings under the new company Eat Up, including new, environmentally-conscious delivery methods. "We're looking at building a green, eco-friendly delivery system, especially in the new markets over the summer," says Rolph.
But added delivery services are just one key point of this monumental acquisition. JUST EAT Canada will now be the first in its space to utilize Eat Up's proprietary technology, Restologik, to integrate geo-mapping into its online customer experience. Soon, users will be able to track the whereabouts of their orders in real-time, similar to other location-based technologies and mobile apps.
Naturally, this move will lead to groundbreaking gains for JUST EAT Canada in 2014, which now proudly boasts coverage in over 200 cities and towns across Canada with over 4,000 partner restaurants using its service. Twenty more cities are expected to benefit from JUST-EAT.ca this year. Additionally, JUST EAT Canada will have at its disposal a dedicated fleet of delivery drivers both vehicular and on cycles via Eat Up and users can look forward to rapidly expanded selections and varieties of restaurants in the months to come.
Customers can place their delivery/take-out orders via the JUST EAT app for iPhone or Android or on JUST-EAT.ca. Restaurants interested in learning more and joining the service can do so at EatUpDelivery.ca English and EatUpLivraison.ca (French).
*The delivery fleet in Quebec City will continue to be branded Menu Express for the time being.
