San Francisco-based Instacart, recently valued at $2 billion in its latest funding round, is teaming up with Redwood City-based recipe service Yummly to deliver ingredients on-demand.
Customers can press a button to have all the ingredients from a Yummly recipe purchased at local grocery stores and delivered by an Instacart personal shopper. They will be "seamlessly connected" to the Instacart app, where the ingredients will be matched with products to purchase from local stores, the companies said in a statement.
"With a few clicks, items from any Yummly recipe or shopping list can be brought to a customer's doorsteps in as little as one hour by an Instacart Personal Shopper," the companies said in a Jan. 5 statement. The service eliminates time consuming steps such as to driving to the store and waiting in line, the companies say.
