Hillsboro, Ore. – Henningsen Cold Storage Co., one of the largest temperature controlled warehousing and transportation companies in the U.S., has recently received Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Level 2 Certification for its Salem, Oregon facility.
Administered by the Food Marketing Institute, and recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative, SQF is a meticulous food safety management system that allows food safety and quality systems to be verified and validated throughout the food supply chain.
"Simply put, it is a platform for continuous improvement for Henningsen Cold Storage. What makes it attractive is the fact that it enhances our competence and processes to meet various customer requirements consistently. It is an effective tool in integrating various regulatory changes into our operations," stated Henningsen's Food Safety Manager, Sripriya Agaram. "SQF is a natural choice for us since the SQF mantra 'say what you do, do what you say, and prove it' fits into our culture and expectations seamlessly."
This certification reinforces Henningsen Cold Storage's commitment to food safety practices, and also provides assurance to customers that their product is being taken care of properly and responsibly.
Henningsen's Salem General Manager, Chris Meier, added, "Much appreciation to the entire Salem team. The auditor was extremely impressed with everyone he came in contact with, and commented on that numerous times. He also stated it was the cleanest facility he has ever audited."
