Arizonans will be able to shop at a new grocery store chain in a few weeks when Haggen completes its conversion of 10 Albertsons and Safeway locations.
The Arizona stores include three in metro Phoenix, which already has a super-competitive grocery market with chains that include Fry's, Walmart, Bashas', WinCo Foods, Whole Foods, Fresh & Easy, Trader Joe's, Target and other Safeway/Albertsons stores.
"Haggen's goal is to provide a unique, hassle-free shopping experience," said Bill Shaner, CEO of Haggen's Pacific Southwest division, in a company release.
