WENATCHEE – Basin farmers and producers can learn more about getting their products on grocery-store shelves during a public meeting with Haggen Northwest Fresh leaders in Wenatchee this month.
Haggen, headquartered in Bellingham, currently operates 18 stores in Washington and Oregon. The grocery chain is in the process of acquiring an additional 146 stores in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Arizona under the recent Safeway and Albertson's merger.
The Wenatchee Albertson's is one of those stores, and will soon transition into a Haggens store. Haggens has a longstanding tradition of featuring locally produced products when possible, according to a company statement.
