GULFPORT, MS – The Mississippi Gulf Seafood Trail is a campaign encouraging local restaurants to promote fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico. It started in late spring, and ends on August 14.
Half Shell Oyster House is one of the 41 restaurants participating in this year's seafood trail campaign. Manager Chad Henson says his staffers are excited to be involved. "We are locally owned, and we are a part of this community. We want to make sure we're showcasing everything the Gulf Coast has to offer, and local seafood is the best way to be able to do that as far as our business goes," said Henson.
Half Shell is offering two seafood specials this month, one with oysters and the other with crab, both made with local seafood. "We thought of creative ways to be able to incorporate it into specials," said Henson.
