Some familiar grocery stores in the Shoals are being rebranded with a name longtime residents will recognize.
The two Southern Family Market stores in Florence and the former Piggly Wiggly in Muscle Shoals have been renamed Food World. That name is a familiar one because it once adorned the signs of two of the stores.
The official renaming takes place today, with ribbon-cutting ceremonies and other special events at the stores.
Emphasis is being placed on fresh produce and pricing as part of the rebranding, according to company officials. The emphasis includes a double money back guarantee for produce, meat, bakery goods, deli items and seafood.
