Fairway Market, the iconic grocery store that functions as an organic farmers market, butcher, baker, cheese shop and fish monger all in one, has signed on to anchor the famed Hudson Yards development with a 45,875-square-foot retail store on the ground floor of the South Tower.
The market will be adjacent to the 10th Avenue Spur, part of New York City's High Line, and across the street from 500 W. 30th St., a new Robert A.M. Stern-designed property currently under development.
"We look forward to providing customers a fabulous and unique food shopping experience with fresh, natural, organic and conventional foods at great values," said Herb Ruetsch, CEO of Fairway Market.
The grocer is expected to open its doors in 2015. Known for its "Like No Other Market" slogan, Fairway currently serves millions of customers annually with fresh produce and seafood, an expansive kosher section, custom-cut prime meats, cheeses from around the world, a New York deli counter, bakery, olive bar, coffee bar, cafe and more.
