WILLIAMSPORT — Dot Foods — the largest food-redistribution company in the U.S. — is planning to expand operations in Washington County through a $35 million project that is expected to add 100 new jobs by 2023, state officials announced Tuesday.
Dot Foods' two-phase project includes a 100,000-square-foot expansion at its Williamsport facility, increasing the total to 350,000 square feet of warehousing space, nearly doubling the company's capacity, according to a news release from Gov. Larry Hogan's office.
"This expansion of space and workforce will allow Dot Foods Maryland to boost its capacity from the current 450 million pounds per year to 700 million pounds per year," Brian Duffield, general manager of Dot Foods Maryland, said in the release. "This expansion shows Dot's continued commitment to the Williamsport and Washington County areas."
