Big Changes Coming To Fresh & Easy

British retailer Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is making more in-store changes to generate revenue as it faces staggering profit losses in the millions after nearly four years in America.

Changes include scrapping its standalone kitchen sampler table to
make room for more produce and ready-to-eat meals, introducing a rewards card, creating a larger bakery section and expanding its floral arrangements. (Slide show: View photos of changes)

A representative for the El Segundo-based retailer, which is moving forward with plans to open a new store in Anaheim Hills, said the changes are part of the chain's mission to focus on what shoppers want. The latest makeover is geared toward adding a larger variety of fresh items — from breads to exotic fruits and vegetables.

"Overwhelmingly, what we heard from customers is they want more fresh options," company spokesman Brendan Wonnacott said in a phone interview.
