A $6.5 million addition to the corporate offices of Associated Wholesale Grocers, a complex that houses more than a thousand employees, opened Wednesday at a ceremony attended by Kansas City, Kan. officials.
The 30,000 square-foot expansion of the facility at 5000 Kansas Ave. has allowed Associated to consolidate its metropolitan operations at one location. AWG, as it’s known, and its subsidiaries support retail outlets in 24 states from New Mexico to Florida.
“AWG’s investment is another testament of their ongoing commitment to our community and partnership with this governing body,” Mayor Joe Reardon of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County said in a statement.
