Technologically savvy grocery shoppers — particularly those with mobile Apple devices — can now pay using Apple Pay at more than 100 grocery stores in the St. Louis region.
Both Schnucks and Dierbergs have implemented the technology into their systems. That means shoppers can use their iPhone or Apple Watch to pay for groceries at checkout.
“We’re always focusing on ways to make our customers’ shopping experience more convenient, and that includes giving them the options they’re looking for to pay for their groceries,” said Jim Shipley, Dierbergs CIO, in a statement. “Mobile payment and particularly Apple Pay is an option our customers have asked for, and we like it because of Apple Pay’s exceptional security and privacy properties.”
