Hillsboro, OR – Henningsen Cold Storage Co., one of the largest temperature controlled warehousing and transportation companies in the U.S, has recently received their Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Level 2 Certification for their Portland, Oregon facility (P1).
Administered by the Food Marketing Institute and recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative, SQF is a meticulous food safety management system that allows food safety and quality systems to be verified and validated throughout the food supply chain. SQF is recognized by retailers, food service providers, and regulatory agencies around the world and is the only Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard that offers a separate approach that incorporates a quality certification component.
"As we implement SQF across our various locations, we have come to acutely realize that it is a strong platform to enhance our competencies as well as to drive us towards excellence. This is a direct benefit, not only for food safety, but also operational practices in ensuring customer and regulatory requirements", stated Henningsen's Food Safety Manager, Sripriya Agaram. "We are all very proud of the Portland facility's achievement of a 99/100 score and excellent grade. This is a testament to the team's leadership and drive".
This certification reinforces Henningsen's commitment to food safety practices, and emphasizes their eminence in the industry.
Henningsen's General Manager of the Portland facility, Colin Longmuir, added, "Attaining the SQF level 2 certification is an exciting achievement for our Portland team! There was a lot of hard work from the whole group that went into this accomplishment. We are proud to be recognized for the steps we take to ensure our customer's products are handled with care and stored in clean, food safe environments".
