Albertson's CEO: Grocery Chain Has Made Changes For The Better

LUBBOCK — Albertson’s grocery store chain has a long history in the area — but the company is proud of its more recent changes, CEO Bob Miller said.

“We’ve changed significantly. In 2006, our efforts were focused on cleaning up the stores and making minor paint-and-patch fixes to create a better place for our customers to shop and our associates to work,” said Miller.

The Albertson’s of today was only recently formed, according to company spokeswoman Christine Wilcox.

“When Albertson’s LLC began in June 2006, no one in the industry knew what to expect from us,” she said. “It’s no secret that we acquired a set of stores that lacked investment and needed attention. But then, as now, we knew that with the right talent and focus, we would build a solid company and be able to return the brand to its once well-regarded status.”
