AgLocal Partners With AmazonFresh To Provide On-Demand Meat Delivery

San Francisco-based AgLocal first entered the delivery space with a monthly subscription service that brings sustainably sourced meat to people’s homes. Now, it’s expanding into the on-demand sphere by partnering with AmazonFresh, the grocery delivery arm of e-commerce giant Amazon that provides same-day grocery drop offs.

The AgLocal model includes a monthly subscription program in which customers can choose from four different types of boxes: the “Family Style” box, which includes larger portions of meats like chicken, bacon and turkey, the “Grill Master” box for barbecuing (think steaks, kabobs and briskets), the “Fit and Lean” package, with lean steaks, beef jerky and bison, and the “Farmer’s Picks,” which co-founder Naithan Jones says is for the more experimental buyer seeking foodie treats like beef short ribs and goat cubes. Each of the boxes come in a small size— four to seven pounds of meat for $85 — or a large for $150 containing 10 to 14 pounds of meat.

With its new partnership with AmazonFresh, AgLocal’s customers have a second method of getting their meat — immediately upon ordering it. Using AmazonFresh, people can order the meat — along with groceries and local products — straight to their door. Not all of the meat company’s product line is available with AmazonFresh — only the small-size boxes of three of the four boxes, including the Family Style, Fit & Lean, and Grill Master boxes.
