Pelion, SC – For the second year, WP Rawl, the premier grower, processor and shipper of leafy greens in the U.S. partnered with Jankowski Farms and the Young Professional Group (YPG) of Flagler County to host a Farm-to-Table dinner presented by the Florida Farm Bureau of Flagler County.
The event was a fundraiser to benefit youth programs in Flagler County held at the WP Rawl Bunnell facility that opened in 2012 in said county. YPG’s own Youth Leadership Flagler program, the local Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H Youth Development programs, as well as high school culinary programs were present and excited to share their passion with dinner attendees. Local chefs prepared a five-course meal with fresh produce and proteins from local area farms.
“We were honored for the opportunity to host the Farm-to-Table dinner at our facility for the second year. Supporting the communities from which we are a part of is very important to both our company and family. Our grandparents and founders of our company instilled in us a deep respect for family traditions and a responsibility to provide leadership to the industry and community,” said Charles Wingard, vice president of field operations. “Our goal is not to just be part of the communities from which we operate but to be a meaningful part of the community and contribute back as much as possible.”
This year the event raised a total of $15,116, which is 36 percent more than the first year.
