Here's a good-news story in the still-sputtering economic recovery: Washington marketers set a monthly record for apple shipments in November, then promptly shattered that mark in December.
Solid movement has continued in January, another indication of a good marketing season for the state's growers.
"Everything looks good at this point," observed Dan Kelly, assistant manager of the Washington Growers Clearing House in Wenatchee, which tracks prices on behalf of its 2,200 members.
"We should be sailing along with movement and price. I don't see anything changing that."
