Stemilt's Late-Season Cherry Harvest Offers Big Retail Opportunities

With the longest cherry season in the industry, Stemilt Growers continues harvest daily in Wenatchee, WA and will take cherries to new heights this August.

Fourth generation cherry grower, Kyle Mathison, will soon begin harvest of Stemilt’s “A Half Mile Closer to the Moon” cherries, which are grown at altitudes of 2,640 (a half mile) feet above sea level and higher. This takes Stemilt cherries into early September and offers retailers the opportunity to extend cherry season for their shoppers.

According to NW Cherries research, retailers who sell cherries in the late season (July and August) can earn nearly $17,000 more for their produce department.
