Fremont, Calif. – Feb. 1, 2011 – Purfresh, a leading provider of clean technologies that purify, protect, and preserve the global food supply chain, today announced the appointment of Mr. JJ Grow as chief operating officer of the plant health group. Mr. Grow joins Purfresh with more than 25 years in the agricultural industry. In this new position, Mr. Grow will be responsible for the operational management of Purfresh’s plant health group including sales, business development, manufacturing, and product development.
“Today, growers are faced with unprecedented challenges such as expanding populations, competition for natural resources, and increasing operational expenses. Never before has it been more critical to remove inefficiencies in food production so as to ensure yield and quality are optimized on every acre farmed,” said Mr. David Cope, president and CEO of Purfresh. “This increasing imperative has driven global adoption of our Purshade solar protectants, and with this expansion came the need for us to expand the leadership team of our plant health group. We are excited to welcome an executive of JJ’s caliber to our management team, and his vast agribusiness experience and entrepreneurial background will bring tremendous value to Purfresh and our customers.”
Mr. Grow joins Purfresh from Nufarm Americas, where he was executive vice president of sales. Prior to Nufarm, Mr. Grow founded Gro-Pro LLC, a manufacturer of crop protection products, which was acquired by Nufarm in 2008. Previously, Mr. Grow held management positions at United Agri-Products, Novartis Crop Protection, American Cyanamid, and Merck Agvet. He holds a bachelor’s degree in food and resource economics from the University of Florida.
"I am thrilled to be joining such a talented team, and look forward to helping Purfresh expand into new markets, strengthen existing partnerships, and maintain the company’s high standards of delivering new and innovative products to the market,” said Mr. Grow. “The agricultural industry is always looking for new technologies to maximize the return on investment while maintaining crop quality, and the Purshade® line of products has proven to deliver and I believe 2011 will be an exceptional year for the team.”
