Produce For Kids To Host Virtual Launch Party Officially Debuting New Website

ORLANDO, Fla. – Beginning Monday, October 21 at 9 am, widespread virtual conversations with parents and bloggers will begin across all Produce for Kids social platforms, the produceforkids.com Blog and in the Forum to celebrate the launch of the new and improved produceforkids.com. Anyone can join the conversation on social media by using the hashtag #ProduceforKids or by visiting the Blog or Forum.

Topics throughout this two-day period will range from healthy snacks for kids and dealing with picky eaters to adding more produce to meals and creating a nutritious and delicious meal plan. Visitors joining in the Forum conversation have the opportunity to win grocery gift cards while also obtaining and sharing valuable tips for healthy family eating.

The two-day Virtual Launch Party party will commence with a Twitter party on Tuesday, October 22 at 9 pm ET, hosted by Produce for Kids and members of the Produce for Kids Parents on Produce® board. By using the  hashtag #ProduceforKids, Twitter party attendees will connect with parents, leading bloggers and social influencers along with produce companies in a discussion about healthy eating and how the new produceforkids.com serves as a healthy eating resource for families. Produce for Kids’ media partner, Sprout®, is supplying The Chica Show themed gift baskets valued at $150 each for giveaways during the Twitter party.

“We encourage the produce industry to participate in the Virtual Launch Party and Twitter party as we spread the healthy eating message and discuss with parents the daily struggles and triumphs of keeping their families healthy,” said Trish James, vice president, Produce for Kids. “Our past Twitter parties have averaged 2.3 million impressions and have opened a gateway for us to connect directly with parents.”

The newly redesigned Produce for Kids website is a one-stop shop for busy parents looking for recipes and resources to keep their family healthy. Some new highlights of the website include:

  • Ideal Meals: These registered dietitian-approved recipes help drive the sales of fresh produce by featuring fruits and vegetables as the main ingredients. Ideal Meals are branded with fresh produce companies participating in the Produce for Kids campaign. There are currently more than 100 recipes.
  • Parents on Produce® Blog: The new blog is a place where parents can find simple tips to make healthy eating stress-free and fun, and take the guesswork out of how to prepare healthy meals that kids will actually eat and love. A majority of this content is written by parents for parents, but opportunities are available to Produce for Kids partners to provide parent-focused content.
  • Produce Tips: Shoppers often have questions about how to pick, store and prep their favorite fruits and veggies. The new Produce Tips section offers branded tips straight from the growers on how to maximize the life of fresh produce.
  • Latest News: The news section offers updates on biannual campaigns and other healthy eating initiatives from Produce for Kids and its partners. All retail and produce partners are encouraged to share their healthy eating initiatives for inclusion in the Latest New section and promotion on social networks.
  • Forum: Visitors to the Forum can exchange recipes and tips with other visitors, share healthy eating struggles and receive suggestions from the Produce for Kids team.

Produce for Kids is currently wrapping up its Healthy Families, Helping Kids campaign to help fund local health and wellness classroom projects through DonorsChoose.org.
