Mexico City – NSF International and the Eleven Rivers® Growers Cooperative signed an agreement to work together for the 2012-13 season, where NSF auditors will conduct seasonal certifications and weekly verification audits to participating producers, based on the Eleven Rivers Regulatory Scheme.
On December 17th NSF started seasonal certifications and weekly audits to each participating production unit to verify their compliance with the Eleven Rivers Regulatory Scheme, which was recently recognized by SENASICA, counterpart of FDA in Mexico.
NSF International is an accredited and recognized third party certification and auditing body that certifies producers based on comprehensive audits to verify they meet with public health and safety standards. NSF is widely recognized for its scientific and technical expertise in the health and environmental sciences.
“We chose NSF as our official and exclusive certification and auditing body because of its credentials and international recognition, response capacity based on technical knowledge and professionalism, which are essential for confident weekly verification audits”, said Heriberto Vlaminck, Eleven Rivers’ president.
Isabel Coronado, country manager of NSF México, said that being the only third party auditing and certification body for Eleven Rivers, represents an important opportunity and challenge for NSF, since Eleven Rivers is looking to integrate the highest industry standards into their scheme and promote them through weekly verifications to the growers.
