NOFA-NJ Finalist In Brand Makeover Contest

Hillsborough, NJ – The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey (NOFA-NJ) is a finalist in a nationwide rebranding contest, called ‘Give a Brand!,’ that is sponsored by Thinkso Creative, a New York City-based design and marketing agency. Thinkso Creative offers one lucky nonprofit a complete brand makeover; their creative team spends an entire day developing marketing materials that improve the nonprofit’s outreach capability. NOFA-NJ is one of three nonprofits, including a Washington, D.C. and a Colorado Springs-based nonprofit, competing for the honor.

“Small-scale, sustainable agriculture is an important facet of our nation’s food production system and we’re so excited that Thinkso recognizes that,” said Camille Miller, NOFA-NJ’s Executive Director. “At this point, we’re trying to mobilize support – we feel like this is a great opportunity to publicize the importance of the Garden State’s agricultural contribution.”

NOFA-NJ recently launched a new farmer training program that includes access to land at their incubator farm, called The Center for Working Lands, located on Duke Farms, in Hillsborough, NJ. This program, as well as nutrition and organic gardening programs, would be considered for the branding and marketing strategy that would be created by Thinkso, if enough support is garnered. While Thinkso chooses the initial participating nonprofits, the winner is chosen by public vote.

“Winning this contest will help us improve our communications, which will help us encourage consumers to buy local and introduce more farmers to a support network that offers education and technical assistance,” Miller continued.
