Burlington, MA – New England Produce Council, Inc. (NEPC) and Dole donate $5000.00 to the Greater Boston Food Bank. NEPC hosted a dinner meeting at the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) on Tues. Jan. 12th with Dole as the sponsor. The evening began with cocktails and tours of the GBFB. Anthony Sattler, NEPC President, and Neil Kessler, North East Region Manager Dole, presented a check to Catherine D’Amato, President/CEO, Greater Boston Food Bank. The meeting was attended by many NEPC members representing all aspects of the produce industry. Both organizations are proud to support such a worthy charitable organization as the Greater Boston Food Bank. "The Greater Boston Food Bank provides food for so many Men, Women, Families and Children and the NEPC are excited to be a part of this great cause", states Anthony Sattler, NEPC President.
GBFB is the largest hunger relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. Last year, GBFB distributed over 54 million pounds of foods with twenty- five percent being fresh produce. Their goal is to provide at least One Meal a Day to every person in need in eastern Massachusetts.
