Natural Delights Earns Non-GMO Project Verification

BARD VALLEY, Calif. – Natural Delights, the nation’s leading Medjool Date brand, is pleased to announce that they are Non-GMO Project Verified, furthering their commitment to providing quality, fresh fruit for consumers.

The Non-GMO Project is North America’s only third-party verification and labeling organization for non-GMO food and products. GMOs, or “genetically modified organisms,” are plants or animals that have been genetically engineered with DNA from bacteria, viruses, and other animals and plants. Natural Delights Medjool Dates underwent a series of rigorous tests and audits to ensure that they adhere to the Non-GMO Project’s strict Standard for GMO avoidance.

“Consumers are continuing to demand transparency about their food and where it comes from,” said David M. Anderson, Director of Marketing for Natural Delights. “Natural Delights is happy to answer the call by working with trusted third-party organizations to validate our commitment to providing the best quality Medjool dates.”

Natural Delights will proudly display the Non-GMO Project Verification mark on its packaging, beginning this fall, coinciding with the 2015 crop harvest.

Natural Delights Medjool Dates, also named an official “heart healthy” food by the American Heart Association, are low-medium on the glycemic index and packed with fiber and potassium (50-percent more, by weight, than a banana) making them perfect for boosting energy, satisfying hunger and helping with muscle recovery. Their caramel-like taste, consistency and natural sweetness gives them an advantage over refined sugars in recipes and pre- and post-workout snacks.
