MountainKing Turns To Restaurant Chefs To Rev Up Sales Of Steakhouse Roasters

HOUSTON, TX – A new marketing campaign by MountainKing featuring Houston’s top chefs and their at-home recipes for potato side dishes, each ready to eat in under 20 minutes, is heating up sales of the company’s Steakhouse Roasters.

Shipments of MountainKing’s Steakhouse Roasters are up an impressive 33 percent since the company launched campaign in the Houston Chronicle’s Flavor section.

Ads with Houston chefs Danny Trace of Brennan’s, David Cordua of Cordua Restaurants, Ozzie Rogers of III Forks and Kathy Elkins of Giacomo’s Cibo e Vin present their quick-to-fix at-home recipes, each with no more than four easy steps, featuring MountainKing’s Steakhouse Roasters and just a few other ingredients.

“We turned to Houston’s best culinary minds to demonstrate how quick and easy it is to prepare great-tasting potato dishes,” explains John Pope, MountainKing’s vice president sales & marketing.

The chef-inspired recipes with MountainKing’s Steakhouse Roasters, perfect with steak, chicken and fish, include Texas Creole Potato Hash, Roasted Potatoes with Lemony Mediterranean Sauce, Saucy Potatoes with Cilantro Sauce and Remarkable Roasted Fingerling Potatoes.

“The campaign has been very well received in Houston and certainly will be the blueprint for future chef-driven efforts.” Pope adds.  “Chefs have and will continue to shape cooking trends.”

Known as “fingerlings” because of their slender, tubular shape, MountainKing’s Steakhouse Roasters don’t require peeling and when sliced into halves or quarters, cook up in about 20 minutes.

Each 1.5 lb. bag of MountainKing Steakhouse Roasters, shipped directly from the company’s Houston headquarters to retailers across Texas, offers 8-10 servings.
