Melon 1 Welcomes Brandi Harrison, Announces New Plant Program

PUNTA GORDA, FL – Brandi Harrison has joined Melon 1 as the new Seed & Plant Operations Manager. Brandi has been working in the watermelon industry for 4 years. Most recently she was with Intergro, Inc. an agricultural solutions company. Her experience also includes being a spokesperson for the Florida Watermelon Association in 2013, and for the National Watermelon Association in 2014.

“We are very pleased to welcome Brandi to our team,” said Rich Chastain, partner at Melon 1. “I know that she will be a great addition, and will continue to work towards our vision to making the seed and plant process easier for our growers.”

Harrison received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Florida Gulf Coast University. Brandi is an active member of the Florida Watermelon Association, and she also sits on the board of directors. She is also a member of the Texas, Georgia, Alabama and National Watermelon Associations.

Starting now, Melon 1 will be overseeing their own plant program for their farms, and their growers. This will include seed orders, delivery to the green houses, and then delivery of plants to each farm. This will put more of the process in the control of Melon 1, for them to ensure plantings occur on time and that the growing process is seamless for the farmers.
