Mann Packing is in expansion mode.
The Salinas-based company, one of the country’s largest shippers for fresh vegetables, is building a new shipping and cooling facility in Salinas.
The facility, to be located at Harris Road at Harris Place in the city’s airport district, is expected to be about 113,000 square feet and sit on 21 acres. The facility, which will also include office space, will add to Mann’s existing facility on 22-acres of land on Hansen Street.
Mann is in the final stages of purchasing the land from Uni-Kool Partners, the Salinas-based crop preparation company.
