Mann Packing Hires Two Employees

SALINAS, Calif. – Mann Packing is expanding its staff with two new hires.

Denise Takakjian joins the sales staff to replace Bixby Ramsey who is moving to field operations.

Mike Jarrard, company president and COO said, "As part of our succession planning Bixby Ramsey is moving into field operations where he will work alongside his father, Dick, who has been with the company for 38 years. Dick's father, Bill, ran our field operations before him so we are thrilled to have a third generation family member becoming an integral part of our sourcing operations. Grower relations are a high priority for us and Bixby will do a great job managing our grower base and our back to the ranch performance."

Takakjian is well known in the produce business and worked previously for Growers Express, Ready Pac Produce, Inc., The Sholl Group/Green Giant Fresh and Tanimura and Antle.

The second new employee, Brian Bengard, is the regional sales manager for the company's foodservice division in the western United States. Bengard joins Mann from Nunhems, a division of Bayer CropScience, in Paso Robles, Calif. He held previous positions at Tanimura and Antle, Madison Cellars/Parkfield Vineyards and was the owner/operator of Solid Gold Produce, a wholesale produce company with distribution in three central California coastal counties.

Bengard will report to Rick Russo, director of sales for foodservice and commodity, and Takakjian to Scott Wise, director of sales and customer solutions.

John Haydock, senior vice president of sales, said, "This is a time of tremendous growth and innovation at Mann Packing. We are pleased to have these experienced professionals join our team so we can continue to meet market needs moving forward in retail and foodservice."
