Boston, MA – Maglio & Company has announced that for any split repack and tomato repack cases sold from its Boston distribution center during the month of May, the company is donating $.10 to The One Fund Boston. The One Fund Boston was formed by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to provide financial support for those affected by the April 15 Boston Marathon bombing.
“What happened during the Boston Marathon was a tragic event and we are deeply saddened, especially as a local business. However, the race is about perseverance, community and resilience and we are committed to helping the city of Boston recover from this heartbreaking experience” said Sam Maglio, Owner and President of Maglio & Company. “We are confident that as the city bans together and as compassionate supporters across America continue to offer help, Boston will bounce back stronger than ever.”
Many individuals from companies such as Suffolk Construction, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and John Hancock have also made commitments to The One Fund Boston. One Fund Boston will apply for 501(c)(3) tax exempt status and if received, all donations made since the date of the entity’s formation will be tax deductible. Donations to The One Fund Boston can be made at www.onefundboston.org.
