INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — The Produce Mom® founder and CEO, Lori Taylor, will give the keynote address at the 2017 California Agriculture in the Classroom Conference. The conference will be held July 14-15 in Visalia, California.
Taylor’s keynote address will focus on the story behind the The Produce Mom brand and how the brand’s Produce Challenge calendar can be utilized as a classroom tool. Taylor will detail how The Produce Mom and Julie Cates, California Ag In the Classroom Teacher of the Year, have partnered to expand the The Produce Mom’s educational program, Find Your Favorite®. Together they created in-classroom fresh produce tasting parties and lessons that fulfilled academic standards from the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
“My aim is to inspire educators to use fresh produce in the classroom as a way to promote agriculture and encourage school-aged children to consume more fruits and vegetables,” explains Taylor. “The Produce Challenge® calendar is a powerful tool that is currently utilized in classrooms throughout the United States. I’m eager to share with California educators how they can best utilize tools from The Produce Mom and our Family of Partners.”
The California Agriculture in the Classroom Conference is presented by the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom. Attendees of the conference are educators looking for new and innovative ways to educate their students about food and agriculture through all subject areas.
