SANTA PAULA, CALIF.–Limoneira Company (NASDAQ: LMNR), a leading agribusiness with prime agricultural land and operations, real estate and water rights throughout California, has named Stewart Lockwood as Director of Lemon Packing. He will be responsible for ensuring that Limoneira's lemon packing operations are executed optimally to meet customer demand. Beginning November 1, Limoneira will market and sell its lemons directly to foodservice, wholesale and retail customers around the world.
"Stewart has a long history in the citrus industry and has seen both the market side as well as the production side of the business," says Alex Teague, Limoneira's senior vice president. "His unique background in the marketplace will help drive our lemon packing to new levels as we enter our exciting new venture into direct marketing."
Lockwood was previously general manager of citrus operations at DiMare Fresh, Inc., a national supplier of tomatoes, citrus, melons and vegetables.
Lockwood will be based at Limoneira headquarters in Santa Paula. "He returns home as he was born and raised in Santa Paula," says Teague. "Stewart is excited to join the Limoneira team."
