Influential Produce Veteran Chuck Underwood Retires After 45 Years Of Service

Chuck Underwood, a fresh produce industry veteran, recently retired from the domestic sales staff at Columbia Marketing International LLC., Wenatchee, Washington.

“Chuck is an extraordinary individual and one that will be greatly missed by his CMI family and the industry alike.  His impact on where we are today as a company and the roads that he pioneered with customers along his journey at CMI will forever be appreciated,” said President of CMI, Bob Mast.

Underwood’s extensive produce career began at the Growers Clearing House.  He then worked with Nuchief Sales, now known as Honey Bear.  Following Nuchief Sales, Chuck co-launched Stirling_Underwood, which later evolved into Northwest Fresh.  In his 23 years in business for himself, Chuck’s produce relationships became the solid foundation for many lasting friendships.  Chuck brought these relationships to the table and helped open doors when he joined the CMI team 15 years ago.

After 45 of service in the produce industry, one never truly retires.  Chuck will always keep a pulse on the produce industry.  With his new found time, Underwood plans to enjoy more time on the golf course and enjoying his hobbies of biking and boating on Lake Chelan.
