Inaugural Organic Produce Summit Set For July, 2016 In Monterey, CA

Program plans are being finalized for the inaugural Organic Produce Summit to be held July 13-14, 2016 in Monterey, CA. The two-day Summit is dedicated to the flourishing organic fresh fruit and vegetable industry, and includes an engaging and informative program connecting organic producers and handlers.

As the first-ever event for the booming $11 Billion organic fresh produce industry, the Organic Produce Summit will feature leaders and innovators of organic fresh produce discussing, collaborating and networking on the opportunities and challenges faced in today’s fastest growing food segment. In addition to a gala opening night reception, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a wide selection of exciting educational sessions, view a keynote address by an organic industry leader, and network with over 70 organic exhibitors.

“The Organic Produce Summit will bring together organic producers, handlers, distributors, processors, wholesalers and retailers under one roof to network, communicate, and share ideas of how the multi-billion dollar organic produce industry is changing the face of the fresh produce aisle and menus across the globe——and how organic fresh produce will continue grow in the future,” said Todd Linsky, President of Todd Linsky Consulting. “Not only has the time come to celebrate the growth of organic fresh produce, but we have a tremendous chance to look at our future and the potential opportunities and challenges we will face.”

To help showcase the scope of the organic fresh produce community, The Organic Produce Summit has assembled an advisory committee of the sector’s producers and handlers to help guide the event.

The OPS Advisory Committee Members include:

  • Gary Kosofsky, BJs Wholesale Club
  • Tim Shepard, Crosset Company
  • Howard Nager, Domex SuperFresh Growers
  • David Hahn, Four Seasons LLC
  • Brian Peixoto, Lakeside Organic Gardens
  • Dave Lively, Organically Grown Company
  • Laura Batcha, Organic Trade Association
  • Michael Schutt, Raley’s/Nob Hill/BelAir
  • Matt Seeley, The Nunes Company
  • Todd Linsky, Todd Linsky Consulting
  • Edmund Lamacchia, Whole Foods
  • Ricardo Crisantes, Wholesum Family Farms

“We have received unbelievably positive feedback for this event and want to make sure we understand what information organic producers and handlers are seeking. To that, we have assembled a who’s who of people involved in various aspects of the organic industry—producers, retailers, wholesalers, and association members— to make up the OPS Advisory Committee, “Linsky said. “We have a big-tent approach to this event. Producers and handlers; big and small; east and west. We want to welcome everyone associated with the organic fresh produce industry and provide a forum for how we can continue to grow in the years to come.”

Additional information about the event, including registration, exhibiting, and sponsorship opportunities will available in the coming weeks.
