A Hood River berry grower has received $114,000 to help expand its packaging line and purchase a new refrigerated delivery truck.
Hood River Blueberry collected the low-interest loan as part of a local loan program from Whole Foods Market. The company has committed to providing $25 million in low-interest loans to local growers, producers and food artisans.
Established in 2004 by farmer Paul Escoe, Hood River Blueberry, family owned and operated, grows certified organic Aurora, Duke, Chandler and Spartan blueberries in the Hood River Valley’s nutrient-rich volcanic soil. Hood River Blueberry supplied 300,000 pounds of organic blueberries this past summer.
