Heritage Reserve Navel Oranges Arriving In February

LINDSAY, CALIF. – Despite damaging frosts across California orchards/groves, Heritage Reserve™ Navel Oranges grown by LoBue Citrus will return in mid-February for a limited time at select retailers in the United States.

The naturally colored Heritage Reserve Navel Oranges, known for exceptional and consistent flavor, were threatened this past December with over 12 days of below freezing temperatures. After diligent evaluation, LoBue Citrus is looking forward to another year of quality navels.

Heritage Reserve navels are taste-tested daily, graded tightly for optimal flavor and packed to order.  The Heritage Reserve program is supported with high graphic packaging, point of sale materials (POS), merchandise bins, blogger partnerships and social media. Quick response (QR) codes on packages link to a video where LoBue family members talk about the history of the legacy groves and why they produce such a consistently flavorful navel orange.

With priority on land stewardship and sustainability, LoBue’s investment in California’s original citrus groves continue to produce the greatest tasting navel oranges.  Heritage Reserve navels are grown in a unique sub-section of California’s renowned Central Valley citrus growing region.  These groves date back to 1898 to the original Washington-variety bud wood and have never been replanted.

The success in the sustained productivity of the groves can be attributed to a micro-climate and sandy soils unique to this region – a narrow, 20-mile long area neighboring the western foothills of Sequoia National Park and decades of consistent farming practices aimed at cultivating optimal flavor.
