Salinas, CA – The Grower-Shipper Association of Central California (Association) announces the hiring of Marissa Ritter as its Director of Marketing and Communications. Ms. Ritter began her employment with the Association on December 1, 2014. Her position is a new one for the Association and will focus on strategic marketing management and communications to members and the public. She will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of all of the Association's marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. She will also oversee the implementation of support materials and services in the areas of marketing, communications and public relations and will coordinate these efforts at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Association.
Ms. Ritter comes to the Association from Ag Against Hunger, where she spent nearly two years as the Community Relations Coordinator. Prior to joining Ag Against Hunger, the majority of Marissa’s marketing experience was in the software and manufacturing industries. She is also involved in several local organizations, including California Women for Agriculture, Junior League of Monterey County, and Monterey County Farm Day.
