Salinas, California – Centrally located in Salinas within an agriculture industrial park, GreenGate Fresh recently opened its new facility at 1222 Merrill Street. Sustainability and food safety have always been a foundation for GreenGate Fresh. With this in mind, GreenGate Fresh employed “green” construction methods to transform an existing 50,000 square foot concrete tilt-up structure into a state-of-the-art processing facility. The new facility was built to meet all current food safety standards while simultaneously operating in an environmentally friendly manner.
GreenGate Fresh’s new facility incorporates multiple food safety and sustainable features, including:
• Stainless steel walls and ceilings in the processing room
• Custom built wash systems
• Green Building Standards
• Air Cavity Wall System & Venturi Airflow
• Upgraded lighting
• R32 walls and R41 ceilings
“Supplying the foodservice industry with safe, premium quality, value added fresh vegetables–all for an excellent value–has always been a top priority at GreenGate Fresh and this new facility will allow us to continue to do exactly that,” stated Jay Iverson, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We invite our customers to schedule a time to visit our new location and discuss their product needs.”
