DINUBA, CA (July 1, 2010) – Fruit Patch Inc. announced today that it will install a state of the art pomegranate and specialty citrus line for the 2010/11 season. “Fruit Patch is making a substantial investment in order to build our presence in the fast growing pomegranate and specialty citrus markets” said Scott Wallace, President and CEO of Fruit Patch. “Our core strength in packing is our ability to handle sensitive fruit such as white nectarines and peaches. Additionally, we have contracted with Reed Engineering, Kingsburg, which has extensive experience designing and fabricating specialty citrus lines, to design and build our new line. We believe the combination of Fruit Patch’s experience in packing sensitive fruit and Reed Engineering’s experience in specialty citrus ensures our operational success.” Mr. Wallace further states.
“The sales team has been presenting the pomegranate program during our marketing trips and will begin booking orders soon” said Sheri Mierau, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We will make special marketing trips this fall to kick off the specialty citrus program” Ms. Mierau added.
Pomegranates will start around September 13th and continue through the end of the year. Specialty citrus will start October 18th and run through spring 2011. Fruit Patch will offer Clementines, Cara Caras, Satsumas and Blood Oranges.
“With strong stone fruit, grape, asian pear, persimmon and kiwi programs already in place, Fruit Patch is poised to become a year round supplier to its loyal customer base” said Mr. Wallace.
