LAKELAND | Some 700 fresh citrus growers in Florida will get a vote on nine proposed reforms of the Citrus Administrative Committee, a federal marketing order governing the commercial sale of fresh citrus products.
Eligible voters should get their mail ballots by Sept. 15 and must have them postmarked by Oct. 4 for the votes to count, said Duke Chadwell, manager of the Lakeland-based agency under the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The ballot will contain nine issues to be voted on independently, he said. A grower can vote for or against any of the nine issues, and the results will be tallied separately.
