FENTON, MI – Walk into the VG's Grocery on Silver Parkway in Fenton and the colors of the produce on display shine in hues of red, green, yellow and orange.
Customers are likely to be greeted with a smile and hello by Charmagne Kendrick; and the regulars – they're on a first name basis with the store's produce manager.
Kendrick's friendliness, attention to detail and her knowledge of fruits and vegetables are a few reasons why she's one of 25 finalists throughout the nation for United Fresh's Retail Manager Awards Program.
The award recognizes grocery store employees who work to increase sales and consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.
