Twenty years ago on March 21, 1994 Jim Krouse was faced with a difficult situation. His current employer had decided to close their doors with no notice and he had orders that needed to be shipped. After thinking about it, he went over to Office Depot, bought a stack of invoices and started Eureka Specialties. With the help of a loan from his parents, Jim was able to start his dream of owning his own business. He was highly motivated as he and his wife were expecting their first baby in a few weeks.
His goal was simple, to provide high quality produce at a fair price while being able to provide for his new family. This goal is still true today as his family and his Eureka family have both grown. With the dedication of such loyal employees as Trish Duron (15 years) and Tony Padilla (8 years) the Eureka Family has grown into a leading shipper and packer of fresh culinary herbs. In addition the majority of his work force has been with him for 5 to 10 years!
Jim is very grateful for all that Eureka has accomplished over the past twenty years. The loyalties of both customers and growers have made his dream a reality. Jim and all of the Eureka family look forward to the challenge and excitement of the next twenty years.
