OVIEDO, FL – Crunch Pak, the sliced apple specialist, and Duda Farm Fresh Foods, the largest grower of fresh celery in the world, will be taking healthy snacking to the extreme as the companies team up to supply products to the X Games 2016 in Aspen, Colo.; Jan. 28-31.
Two of the top produce snacking brands are coming together to support and participate in this sought-after event for the first time said Krista Jones, director of brand marketing and product innovation, Crunch Pak. Their participation will include donating product to the Athlete Lounge for the athletes to snack on between competitions as well as sampling a variety of fresh apple and celery snacks with the X Games attendees.
The organizers of the X Games asked Crunch Pak and Duda Farm Fresh Foods to organize fresh snacks for the athletes and the companies responded because it provides a platform to showcase their lines to a growing audience.
“Healthy snacking is huge right now – especially for Millennials who view elite athletes as lifestyle role models,” Jones said. “We have enough name brand awareness that event organizers ask us to participate.”
Crunch Pak will sample a variety of its single serve snacks including Snackers that feature licensing partners Marvel and the NBA; as well as Dipperz, Foodles, and 2-ounce mini bags.
Duda will serve its new Dandy® Celery Snack Line that includes six ready-to-snack items: Celery Sticks in a 1.6-ounce single serve package; Dandy® celery and peanut butter packs in two sizes, 2.3 ounce and 4.15 ounces that pairs Naturally Sweeter and Crispier™ celery with a squeezable peanut butter pouch from Peanut Butter & Co®; and Crunchables™ a grab and go cup that contains celery sticks with three Ranch-flavored dips or Peanut Butter.
Duda created the celery snack line to meet growing consumer demand for healthy snacks.
“Duda delivers what Americans want to eat,” said Elena Hernandez, marketing manager. “More than half of Americans snack two to three times a day. The mission of our company is to offer our products in ways that directly meets the needs of consumers, particularly in the celery category. Consumer research shows us that Millennials are all about the experience and the X Games is a great way to reach them in an environment they’re passionate about.”
This is the second time the companies have partnered to reach new audiences, having teamed previously to sponsor events for media representatives and food bloggers.
Jones said, “Our items are complimentary and it helps generate awareness for the healthy snacking category overall if we showcase how many items we both offer.”
