Clifford Produce Appoints Eulalio Fonseca Aguilar To Direct Mexican Operations

RUTHVEN, ON., Jan. 5, 2011 – Chris Jacobs, president of leading greenhouse grower Clifford Produce, today announced that the company has appointed Eulalio Fonseca Aguilar to the position of operations coordinator, Mexico. Aguilar will be responsible for forming partnerships with Mexican growers and managing product quality.

“Eulalio has an outstanding reputation in the produce industry,” said Chris Jacobs, president, Clifford Produce. “We selected him to lead our Mexican operations because he is well respected as a seed representative and as a grower. Eulalio has the technical background necessary to support our growers. Additionally, he understands quality control and will uphold Clifford’s high standards for product excellence and good growing practices.”

Before joining Clifford Produce, Aguilar was the manager of protected crops at Monsanto, where he was in charge of South American seed sales and support. He has 14 years of experience in the industry as a grower, manager and seed expert. In addition to Monsanto, Aguilar has held positions with seed company Seminis, Enza Seed, San Miguel and Colorado Greenhouse.

Based in Canada’s Sunbelt region, Clifford has only recently expanded its operations into Mexico as part of a strategic growth plan to double the company’s size over the next five years. Aguilar will work to solidify and broaden the company’s presence there.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Clifford Produce team,” said Aguilar. “It is exciting to be a part of this new chapter in the company’s development, and I look forward to working with growers in Mexico to supply Clifford’s customers with fresh, delicious greenhouse-grown fruits and vegetables.”

Jacobs noted, “Expanding our operations in Mexico is a central component of Clifford’s plan for sustained growth. Under Eulalio’s leadership, we look forward to growing more produce in Mexico in order to bring our customers a greater selection of superior quality Clifford products on a year round basis.”
