Salinas, CALIF – Church Brothers Farms is celebrating Earth Day this year by sharing that the company is now in position to use 100 percent clean energy to power the True Leaf Farms salad making facility in San Juan Bautista, Calif.
The Church Brothers Farms clean power station, that uses natural gas cogeneration to produce electric power and low temperature refrigeration, was built by Concentric Power last summer to reduce energy intake and do the company’s part to help slow climate change.
The new Salinas growing season, will be the first time Church Brothers Farms/True Leaf Farms will be able to use all clean energy and reduce its overall energy intake while helping to slow climate change.
“Concentric Power’s exclusive approach to modular natural gas cogen refrigeration helped us invest in cleaner forms of energy,” said Tom Church, chairman of the board.
To that end, the Church Brothers Farms/True Leaf Farms companies have long embraced and supported several environmental initiatives; the company tracks and reports its sustainability efforts annually for customers. For Earth Day 2018, April 22, the company is sharing its annual report card.
